Julie Waller

I have always been interested in fitness, and started my fitness career as an Aerobics Instructor.  After having my first child, who was born with Cerebral Palsy, I trained as a Massage Therapist to help alleviate my son’s symptoms.  He received regular physiotherapy and all of his exercises were Pilates based, through this I discovered how effective Pilates can be. He plays for the England Cerebral Palsy Squad and has 36 England Caps and was awarded the Golden Boot in the 2019 European Championships as top goal scorer. A real testament to the effectiveness of Pilates!

I trained with Pilates Training Solutions in Surrey, qualifying in mat work, working with equipment and have taken a specialist course for Pilates in pregnancy.  In 2011 I qualified as a Level 4 Instructor specialising in lower back pain.

I teach Clinical Pilates and work on a one-to-basis with clients and also teach group classes.  I have worked at Bannatyne’s for over 5 years teaching beginners and advanced Pilates.  I also run my own classes and one-to-one sessions from my studio at Greatworth Hall.

I am qualified as a Pink Ribbon Pilates Instructor offering post operative Pilates enhancing recovery, this can be carried out on a one-to-one basis or with a small group.  I am also qualified as a Multiple Sclerosis Pilates Instructor using mat work and equipment for MS patients.

The MoonWalk

In 2019 myself and a group of my Pilates students took on the MoonWalk, walking 26.2 miles around London in our Sparkly bras raising over £5k for breast cancer charities. Our team name was the Bendy Bunch, we certainly didn’t feel very bendy after the walk! I organised training walks at weekends, it was great fun, kept us all fit and challenge ready. Some of the ladies taking part had recovered from breast cancer and some had lost family members. Some beautiful friendships were made along the way. Looking forward to the next challenge!!!
